3 Teams to Watch out for in the 2020 College Football Season
Over the years, the FBS college football has been a very competitive affair. Predicting overall champions from playoffs continues to be tricky. However, the Crimson Tide, the Clemson Tigers, and Louisiana State University (LSU) have proved to be the teams to beat in recent seasons.
The 2019 season signified this domination. Fate ensured that the latter two teams would face off for the 2019 national championship. The tigers were severely humbled, 42-25 to LSU.
Rivalries will be renewed August this year when the 2020-2021 regular season commences. Will LSU retain their title? Read on. We will offer an extensive analysis as to which team might nick the championship title.
Clemson Tigers
The Clemson Tigers have featured in five-straight season playoffs, and the upcoming season won’t be any different. Bar major injuries and unforeseen circumstances, they are heavy favorites to lift the 2020-2021 championship.
The return of key players will buoy them. The availability of Justyn Ross, the wide receiver, and quarterback Trevor will significantly strengthen them. Although they have lost a few players, the upcoming season promises to be an epic one for the Clemson fans.
Louisiana State University
The current champions will be full of confidence heading to the 2020 season. However, their chances of winning the title will be severely hampered by the loss of quarterback Burrow. Burrow was LSU’s most talented player. He set records in the previous season and even won the Heisman Trophy. Replacing him will be an uphill task, and it could well define LSU’s season.
Alabama Crimson Tide
As previous seasons have shown, you can never rule out the Crimson Tide from the championship title. Their 2019 misadventure can be pinned down to injuries of key players, including Tagovailoa. Although he will be out for the start of the season, all other key players have returned.
